Recently developed by a task force of experienced gift planners, the NSGPS offer best practices of a well-constructed, sustainable gift planning effort. Christy Butler Eckoff, a board member for the National Association of Charitable Gift Planners and member of the NSGPS task force, will introduce you to the Standards and provide insight into how they can be used to enhance your work, no matter the maturity of your planned giving program. To fully appreciate how the National Standards for Gift Planner Success can be applied to your own program, feel free to complete the NSGPS Assessment Tool prior to our meeting.

Christy Butler Eckoff is the Chief Foundation Officer and Managing Director of the Atlanta Jewish Foundation. Christy is an expert on charitable estate planning, gift planning, asset-based giving, laws surrounding nonprofits, private foundations, supporting organizations, donor-advised funds, and nonprofit taxation. Previously, Christy served as managing director, philanthropic counsel at the Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta and served as senior director of gift planning at Georgia State University. She previously practiced tax and fiduciary law. She is past-president of the Georgia Planned Giving Council, past-president of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Greater Atlanta chapter and a member of the Junior League of Atlanta. Christy was a board member of AdNet (the Advancement Network for Community Foundations) and is currently on the board of the Atlanta Estate Planning Council, the National Association of Charitable Gift Planners (CGP), and the Association of Fundraising Professionals National PAC board. Christy co-leads the National Standards for Gift Planning Success taskforce of CGP. Christy graduated from Duke University, earned her J.D. at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and LL.M. in Taxation at the University of Washington. Christy is a CFRE Certified Fundraising Executive and a CAP® Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy.
