The State of Houston Philanthropy
CGPH chapter favorite, Steve Maislin, will be the presenter for our June 2022 meeting. This presentation will focus on Houston area giving numbers in 2021 and many local activities that Greater Houston Community Foundation is engaged with (including disaster relief and United Way partnership, GHCF’s Understanding Houston data project, how local nonprofits have responded, and equity issues).
Stephen D. Maislin
Steve Maislin is responsible for leading efforts to evolve Greater Houston Community Foundation’s continuing focus on serving donors and connecting them to Houston’s philanthropic community. Steve, along with the Foundation’s dynamic team, is dedicated to creating a lasting impact with individuals, families, businesses, and foundations. He also continues to work with professional advisors to develop and administer charitable plans that meet their clients financial and giving goals. With a Bachelor’s degree in economics from the Wharton School and JD from the University of Texas School of Law, Steve is a frequent speaker on charitable planning, donor advised funds, and the power of the community foundation platform to grow philanthropic impact. Steve is also a recent Senior Fellow graduate from the American Leadership Forum Class LIII. Steve came to Greater Houston Community Foundation in 2001 after an eighteen-year career as an estate planning advisor to high-net-worth families.
