Tim Walton is the Assistant Vice President for Real Estate Services for Texas A&M Foundation. In this position, Mr. Walton leads the Real Estate Services team in real estate fundraising, evaluation for real property offered as a potential gift to the Foundation, property management and sales of donated property. He is responsible for the long-term management of oil and gas minerals and royalty interests held by the Foundation. Mr. Walton is also responsible for working with development staff to present real estate fundraising proposals. Mr. Walton also serves as risk manager and oversees the Hagler Center. Prior to joining the Foundation in April 2002, Mr. Walton served Texas Municipal Power Agency (TMPA) for 10 years in the areas of real estate valuation, acquisition, management, disposition, and risk management. TMPA owned and operated a 450 mega-watt lignite/coal generation plant supplying wholesale power to the Texas cities of Bryan, Denton, Greenville, and Garland. In addition to the generation plant, TMPA owned and was responsible for the lignite mine consisting of 40,000 acres located in Grimes County, Texas. After graduating from Texas A&M University with a degree in Agricultural Economics, Mr. Walton began his real estate career as a real estate appraiser with Kennedy Holtkamp in Bryan, Texas. Tim and Caren Walton (class of ’90) have one son (class of ‘15 and ‘17), one daughter (class of ‘20 and ‘21) and a 5-month-old grandson (class of 2045). Tim is often heard sharing with anyone who will listen, ”After two decades serving the Foundation and it’s donors, I still can’t wait to get to the office each day, and that is special!”
