May 27, 2021
Stephen D. Maislin
This presentation will focus on Houston area giving numbers in 2020 and many local activities that Greater Houston Community Foundation is engaged with (including disaster relief and United Way partnership, GHCF’s Understanding Houston data project, how local nonprofits have responded, and equity issues), as well as a legislative update.
President and CEO, Greater Houston Community Foundation Steve Maislin is responsible for leading efforts to evolve the organization’s continuing focus on serving donors and connecting them to Houston’s philanthropic community. Steve, along with the Foundation’s dynamic team, is dedicated to creating a lasting impact with individuals, families, businesses, and foundations. He also continues to work with professional advisors to develop and administer charitable plans that meet their clients financial and giving goals. With a Bachelor’s degree in economics from the Wharton School and JD from the University of Texas School of Law, Steve is a frequent speaker on charitable planning, donor advised funds, and the power of the community foundation platform to grow philanthropic impact. Steve came to GHCF in 2001 after an eighteen year career as an estate planning advisor to high net worth families.
