A CGPH favorite, Karen Gerstner will cover a variety of topics in her presentation. As fundraising, legal and financial professionals, we bear a responsibility in helping donors and clients with thoughtful and wise estate planning advice. Karen will share examples from her career of “pitfalls and pearls” that will be interesting and engaging and will add to our professional knowledge and skill set.
Karen is one of us as she served as President of our chapter in 1993-1994. She is the sole shareholder and principal of Karen S. Gerstner & Associates, P.C., a law firm specializing in estate planning and probate law. Karen is Board Certified in Estate Planning and Probate Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and is a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel, where she serves on the Employee Benefits in Estate Planning Committee and Communications Committee. Karen is a frequent speaker at Continuing Professional Education programs, and is also a member of numerous professional organizations where she is serving or has served on the Board and in various officer positions. Karen and her husband, Jim, belong to St. Andrews Presbyterian Church in Houston. They have been married 39 years and have three daughters, Laura, Allison and Elizabeth (Libby).
