Legal Matters Committee

The Chair of the Legal Matters Committee shall be responsible for alerting the Council to general legal issues that arise involving the Council. Such issues may include reviewing contracts that the Council enters into, monitoring the Council’s compliance with its Bylaws, determining if changes to the Bylaws are necessary or advisable and preparing any amendments to the Bylaws, monitoring the Council’s compliance with applicable state and federal laws applying to tax exempt organizations, and making recommendations to the Board of Directors regarding whether it would be advisable to retain outside counsel to advise the Council on any specific matter.
